Legend

The Legend panel is located in the  Customize->Basic accordion menu in the chart editor. The options presented let you set the visibility, layout and text style of the chart’s legend.

Legend

Visibility: On and checked means that the legend is active and visible to the user. Off and unchecked means that the legend is inactive and is not visible to the user.

Layout: Click the drop-down list to choose the way in which the legend items are flowed: vertically or horizontally.

Placement: Select a directional arrow to place the legend in that position. This option set lets you choose a color for the caption, set its font size, enable bold and/or italic text and set the caption’s alignment.

Float on top of plot area: On and checked means that the legend is detached from the plot area and the other elements will resize to fill the space left. The legend may then appear above and obscure other chart elements. Off and unchecked means that the legend is an integral part of the plot area and that other elements will be resized should the position of the legend change.

Text font: Click the drop-down list to select a font type for the text within the legend.

Text style: Expand the Text style panel to view controls for styling legend text as bold, italic or underlined and for setting the text’s font size, and color and opacity options. Click the B, U and I buttons to toggle bold, underlined and italic text styles, respectively. Click the drop-down list to select a font size for the legend’s text. Click the filled circle to open a pop-up color chooser.

Background color: Click the filled circle to open the pop-up color chooser so that you can specify the color and opacity setting of the legend’s background.

Border color: Click the filled circle to open the pop-up color chooser so that you can specify the color and opacity setting of the legend’s border.

Border size: Enter a positive integer value to set the size of the border surrounding the legend.

Corner radius: Enter a positive integer value to adjust the curvature of the legend’s corners. The higher the value the more curved the corners appear.
