Working with pattern fill map data

The options in the pattern fill map data panel let you assign values to different parts of the map.

Here, we will add data labels to each tile that show estimated population of each state in 2022. We’ll add this extra data to the following map:

Note: This workflow builds off the map (and example map data) here. Follow the steps in that article to create the map. Then you can follow these steps to try applying the label.

• Open the map from the project homepage,
• Click Data

Assign the C column to the label field

• Click Label and select Column C

Each state’s estimated population for 2022 has now been added to each state on the map.

Tip: Turn off labels in Customize > Data labels > Visibility > Off.
