Tooltip panel

The Tooltip panel is located in the  Customize > Basic accordion menu in the chart editor. The options presented let you display a tooltip, specify the data the tooltip shows and style the tooltip. The tooltip is shown when a user moves the mouse cursor over the chart and it is convenient and powerful tool for helping users comprehend the meaning of your chart.

Tooltip

Enable tooltip: On and checked means that the tooltip is active and visible to the user. Off and unchecked means that the tooltip is inactive and is not visible to the user.

Show all series: On and checked means that the user will see all data relating to a series as a list when the mouse cursor is moved over the chart. Off and unchecked means that the user will see only the value or values associated with the specific part of a series that the mouse cursor is passed over.

Header: Use this textfield to add the text and data that you want to appear in the tooltip as a header in addition to the series’ data value. Click the pencil icon in the text field to open the pop-up text editor so that you can style the text, choose a font and set color and opacity options.

Add data to header: Use the drop-down list to select a data item to add to the tooltip header. Click the + icon to add the data item to the header.

Body: Use this textfield to add the text and data that you want to add to the body of the tooltip to appear below the header. Click the pencil icon in the text field to open the pop-up text editor so that you can style the text, choose a font and set color and opacity options.

Add data to the body: Use the drop-down list to select a data item to add to the tooltip body. Click the + icon to add the data item to the body.

Background: Click the filled circle to open the pop-up color chooser so that you can specify the color and opacity setting of the tooltip’s background.

Border color: Click the filled circle to open the pop-up color chooser so that you can specify the color and opacity setting of the border surrounding the tooltip.

Border size: Enter a positive integer value to set the size of the border surrounding the tooltip.

Corner radius: Enter an integer value to adjust the curvature of the tooltip’s corners. The higher the value the more curved the corners appear.
