Faq data

- Can I mix text and data in the same cell?

The cells contain either numbers or text. Examples:

  • Correct: 40
  • Correct: July
  • Not correct: 40 million $ in July

Read more about how to prepare the data before the import.

The best way to mix text and number is by using prefix and suffix:

Go to Customize -> Axes (X Axis or Y Axis)-> Axis labels format, then add the signs before or after {value}.

Examples: {value} €

axis label

- Can I copy data from a file and paste it into everviz?

Yes, follow these steps to import data from an Excel spreadsheet or any other source:

  1. Copy the data from the Excel spreadsheet. For Mac use Command + C, for Windows use CTRL + C.
  2. Paste the data on any cell into everviz data view. For Mac use Command + V, for Windows use CTRL + V.

- Can I exclude historic data from a live data source?

Insert the following custom code to ignore the first two months of your data, or replace nMonths=2 for for any other number to ignore that many months:

function subtractMonths(date, nMonths=2) {
  var d = new Date();
  d.setMonth(d.getMonth() - nMonths);
  return d;
}

Highcharts.merge(true, options, {
  xAxis: [{
    min: subtractMonths(new Date())
         .getTime()
  }]
});
```
Variations of this code exist to account for days, for instance. Feel free to reach out to support@everviz.com if you need help.
